Kerteh....

One of my good friends is complaining bout my posts. There are mostly bout my works. Well, to tell you the truth, there's not much activities going in my life rite now. Living in Kerteh is like living in a dead town (it is indeed a dead town, what am i talking bout?). It's a far cry from my hometown melaka (of course la kan?). When i first started working in Terengganu, i didn't know what to expect. I have friends who had been doing their practical training and the way they described kerteh is like describing living in a zombie town. i thought that it wasnt true. Well, i am sooo wrong!

I've been living in Kerteh nearly 2 years now and if any of my friends come here and ask me for the place to hang out, i still can't immediately tell them. The best place might be McD. Other than that? Well...I dunno..Let's try categorize the interesting places from my point of view:

1- Shopping: No shopping malls here. Don't expect Parkson, Jusco, etc. We used to have Teluk Ria (not a mall, more like a kedai but bigger than a kedai la)but it has been shut down since the last 2 or 3 months. There is L-mart, slightly smaller than Teluk Ria but it manage to survive till now. There is a mall coming in. There's so much hype bout this mall. The construction will only be completed next year. For those who has been closely monitoring the mall progress (like me, without even get paid for it) i can say the progress is very slow and....i think all the hypes are NOT true! I don't think there will a bowling lanes, cinema, parkson, etc. Well, if only I can take the picture and show it here, you'll know what i mean..i'm gonna cry!

2-Place to hang-out:
i-McD
ii-Seafood restaurants
iii-The Moon (the best place to lepak but it's about 60km away from kerteh)
iv-Beaches (what else?)

Yeah..McD,McD..SOmetimes when all you want is a glass of drink and long chat with your friends, would you go to seafood restaurants and do that? Don't think so. Sometimes I drive all the way to Chukai (40km away from Kerteh) just to get away from Kerteh. Chukai is slightly more intersting than Kerteh. The best place to lepak? Surely The Moon, 60km away at Cherating. It's also a restaurant but you can just order anything and lepak there all you want. The place is so magical, just by the beach with the moon is reflected in the sea. I love it there.
As for the beaches, well, it's ok la to hang out during the day but not during the nite. It's kinda scary...

So, that's why i've been telling you bout my works. Not much can be describe bout my life in Kerteh. It's tiring la to drive to Kuantan or K. Terengganu. Also, my circle of friends has been smaller now since most of them has gotten married. Not much social life. I've been going out with the same person over and over again. And they are not always available. Any ideas on how to fill the void in my life? Other than boyfriends yer..:p

hi! i chanced upon your blog while searching for possible articles about terengganu. my husband and i, together with our two dogs, are coming over to terengganu for my husband's work assignment in kerteh. i would just like to know if it's alright to bring dogs in kerteh or terengganu as a whole? i can't seem to find any other good article that talks about terengganu other than your blog... he he he...
